The Director General of the National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA), Mr. Igli Tafa, participated in the “Diplo 2024” Ambassadors Conference, where he led the panel titled “New Security Policy Challenges, The Boundaries of Cyber Threats, Misinformation, and Disinformation.” The panel included experts and senior officials who discussed the complex challenges posed by misinformation and disinformation in the digital world and the measures needed to protect national and global security.
In his speech, Mr. Tafa emphasized that misinformation has become one of the greatest threats to the security and stability of nations, as it is used to manipulate public opinion and undermine trust in institutions. He called for strengthening cybersecurity capacities, increasing public education to recognize and counter misinformation, promoting information verification, and fostering close international cooperation to protect the integrity of information and ensure a secure future for all.
The discussions at the conference highlighted the need for new and innovative strategies to address the ongoing challenges in cybersecurity, focusing on strengthening global cooperation and raising societal awareness to defend against emerging cyber threats.
